VIVO Haul

During my shopping trip on wedensday I came across a new make-up brand VIVO.

The items I bought are as follows:

VIVO matte eye shadow - Shade 1 (Sandstorm)
VIVO matte eye shadow - Shade 4 (Rich Chocolate)

VIVO Radiant Boost Highlighter

VIVO Liquid Eye Liner - Shade 2 (Carbon Black)

I have used all the above and for the price and quality of these products, I am simply amazed!! It is as good as  the top branded make-up lines but under almost half the price.

The eye shadow - lasted for 12 hours without creasing!

The Highlighter reduced the colour differences around my eyes and could even be used as an alterative to foundation for a radient glow.

They eye liner goes on a goregous tone of black - the only down side to this one product is the apllicator that they give as standarded was a little weak. Kandee Johnson on youtube however does show you how to make a better applicator http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SogxssqpCS8&list=UU9TreTE-iXwfwQl72DzDurA&index=60&feature=plcp

If you vist her please let her know about my blog and that I had referenced her. She does amazing video make-up tutorials!!

In total for these 4 product I paid just £8.59 !!

Basics

Confussed about make-up ???

........STOP , WAIT & Chillax !!

There are a few secrets which can help you solve a problem that you don't need!!

1st - Do know your skin undertone? Is it warm? Cool? Or Nutural?

Warm = Yellow-ish look to the skin

Cool = A blue-ish look to the skin

I am a fair warm tone during the winter ------------->

Still not sure? Then try this little trick , pull up your sleeve and look on your forearm are your veins mainly blue (cool) or Green (warm) ??

Still can't tell ?? !! Don't worry I have 2 more ways in which you can try figure it out yourself.

Jewellery - This is pretty simple Silver or white metals - do they make you glow better? This is an indication that you have a cool undertone & Finally Yellow metal suggest a warm undertone.

Clothes - borrow friends and family members clothes - In all shades and fabrics (this is not only fun to try out new looks but also help solve one of the most asked questions!) Whites , blues and purples would suggest cool tones whereas earthy orange yellows creams and browns suggest again warmer tones.

Tips whilst conducting these tests are to ensure you are in fair natural light and be honest with yourself or have someone do the test with you too who will be honest!

Now that you know this small detail - You can go and buy the best match foundation. Why not go and visit your department store such as Debenhams or John Lewis. The ladies behind the counter are usually real helpful and can guide you through selecting the right colour. REMEMBER - you will not be able to use the same colour all year round - summer time you usually need a shade or two darker as your skin is exposed to sun light.

2nd rule now that you have the correct colour base, is to now  prepare your skin and learn how to apply your base. If you don't already have a daily facial routine I suggest you find one fast which consists of exfoliation , cleansing and moisturising. E.C.M ( I will be adding my routine and the products I use soon.)

Now that you have prepared your skin you need to apply your base. Start with a concealer (green to hide any red blotches/blemishes or scars and an appropriate tone for dark eyes circles or any other impurity) I like to let the concealer set by using a translucent power. Then with your foundation starting in the middle of your face blend outwards towards the hair line , jaw line etc. Ensure that all harsh lines are finely blended out and it matches your neck tone. Again I will set my foundation with power.

Adding details such as eye make-up and blusher is pretty simple too :

Blue eyes : Earth tones make your eyes pop, avoid Blue and Green shades!!

Green eyes : Purple shades - such as mauve and plum even dusty pink again avoid blue it is simply to plain Jane for you darlin'.

Hazel - brown eyes : has alot more options golden colours, to dark green and karkhi, orange grey green/blue. However half tone colours are a nooooo no!

Dark bone eyes : use any deep colour - Dark green , purple even a navy . But avoid pastelles they will wash the whites of your eye out!! Uhhhh-oh!

Finally Blusher - Stick to your skin tones ensure you are using warm or cool toned blushes.

Please Let me know if the test also worked for you and if you have found this useful, have a great day and remember you heard it here first!
